That's a good suggestion Shawnkara. Maybe some kind of combined ironing and pecards treatment will work well. I still haven't picked up the jacket yet but I've only owned it for a month, so I'm hoping the leather is still "fresh" enough to react well to my attempts. I will try and post som...

Sleeve question

So I'm getting the sleeves lengthened on my Wested lambskin, and the tailor called me to say that there will be a visable crease where the old edge was and wanted to know if I still wanted it done or not. I said to go ahead and I would worry about gettin the crease out after I got it back, which sho...

I would have to agree with a month as that's exactly how long mine took. I wouldn't get your hopes up like I did when Gemma said typical delivery was 21 days.

Way off topic, but did anyone else notice that "Raincoat" on the bottom-right looks a heckuva alot like the one that Frank Sinatra famously throws over his shoulder in the "Pal Joey" promotional photo-shoots? Indy N. It is quite similar, both in color and lining. I can te...

What I would recommend is to open up the phone book, look up a good orthopedic shoe store, and have THEM measure your feet. Tell them you need to be measured for the Alden boot. Chances are, they may be able to order the boot for you. In that case, you can make sure they fit before leaving the stor...

Glad to hear about the boots, they're the next item on my "to get" list. So do you think going to the store was worth it? Since they didn't have your shoe in-store do you think it would have been comprable to get your foot measured at a place like Nordstrom's and then order the shoe? Just ...

I tried reversing my d-rings and I must say it held the strap very well. I ended up switching it back though because I didn't like how you could see the gap in the metal. If you really wanted to hide the gap you could probably use some kind of epoxy or something and get a good look. I currently only...

There is a gap in the metal and that could wear out the leather on the strap and do it some damage in time. I'm not willing to take that chance. Sounds like you've had luck with it thusfar, though. I don't see how this is a logical arguement because when the D-ring is in its correct position the ga...

I had to pay an extra $38 because of some "issue with customs" the mailman called it. Well, that went right into his pocket, didn't it? You have no idea why he was asking you for money and you still forked it right over? He should have had a detailed description of what and why you owed i...

I agree with everything that's been said but I'll give my advice as well. I do think that you should do what you feel is right, whether it's keep the strap or not. Personally, I own 2 MkVIIs and cut the strap off of both. I used my swiss army knife (in a MacGyver moment) to slice through the stitche...

You need to get rid of the rings, too. The Raiders bag had thicker, heavier rings. In some scenes they're bright silver. I haven't gone back and looked at pictures yet, but is your bag a W&G like was used in the movies? The reason I ask is because I own a W&G and it has what I would conside...

I think the key to the grooves is that they are very shallow. My only thought is that whatever cleanup software they used must have thought they were scratches in the film. Whereas the "slash" on the strap in that scene is much more prominent so it stayed. I recently got two bags (Both Mk ...

Maybe it's just my imagination but in some of those grabs it looks like the strap could have grooves in it. If they are there it looks like they are very shallow and maybe just don't show up well on film. I will try myself to locate a shot that shows any hard evidence of their existence.

The hat is made by Peters Brothers. I didn't mean to start a belt controversy but looking at that picture made it look weird to me. Guess I'm just too used to seeing it in the mirror. After looking that does appear to be the way indy wears his belt (excess hanging to the wearer's left)
