Dr. Pepper, so misunderstood.

Personally, I prefer Moxie.

Lacking

Lacking aroma, bouquet, impudence or presumption. Every time I see a piece of clothing that says "official" I read insipid. Just got one of these and replaced the band with a strand of wood beads. Could have used a snakeskin or crocodile teeth. http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/belt...

Heh yeah I began to wonder why an exotic animal trapper would need soooo many thompsons in addition to the rifles he had stocked on board, so the second time I saw it I rationalized that - because the thompsons werent exactly stored in open view - he smuggled guns to the mafia on the side... didnt ...

Saw it . Loved it. The tramp steamer is fantastic and my Skull Island home is accurately portrayed. I think Jackson added good era texture. My only beef is with the sailor's combination caps. The chin straps are too tight and the crowns are either too tight or two chauffeur-like in appearance. My re...

A Cold Steel Voyageur 3" plain tanto point blade in a leather pocket holster suits me just fine most of the time when I don't have to go through metal detectors. With formal wear, a Cold Steel Safekeeper III push dagger in an ankle holster, just to make me feel stylish like Bond, James Bond, ma...

Boy, that looks like it'd be hard to get used to aiming w/ the muzzle so far below the trigger. Wouldn't that also put the main recoil BENEATH your thumb, pushing the nose down on successive shots? (As opposed to a typical upward recoil?) (I'm probably mangling the terms, here, I'm not a gun person...

A "Schmeisser" for the 21st Century?

Elsewhere a poster admired the appearance of a Schmeisser in an avatar. Perhaps here we have its successor. http://images.military.com/stpics/SoldierTech_KRISS.jpg http://www.military.com/soldiertech/0,14632,Soldiertech_KRISS,,00.html?ESRC=soldiertech.nl I think you can also wash your car with it.

Re: Perspective

[...The MKVII doesn't have a whole lot of room in it; but there are separate compartments. Enough to carry a few things on a day hike. (There's also something neat about the simplicity of a gas mask bag that's been converted with a rifle sling to a catch-all bag that sits comfortably near the hip.)...

Indy, in his travels to far flung digs would have needed a precise, rugged, no frills timepiece as a tool. Either for getting there or surveying a site. And since he had served in World War I he probably would have worn a wristwatch as he would have found it much handier to use, just as scores of o...

Today everyone wears a wristwatch and they are fashion accessaries, but I don't believe that was the case in the Depression. A nice pocket watch was the province of management, of seniority, and a visible sign of authority. Train engineers and conductors carried watches for professional reasons. Ban...

It appears at the Rolex site as an exhibit of a WWI watch. The face seems to say "Waltham," surely not Rolex.

Well, I sort of thought of Indy as a pocket watch sort of guy. Anyway with my fading vision it occurred this might be the right watch for both of us.

Perspective

Now let's put this in perspective. I am disturbed we are taking a noticeably cosmetic approach to a elemental piece of gear. A musette bag has the advantage, with one strap, of easily being discarded in a crisis. It does nave some disadvantages. For on thing, it is uncompartmented. It is dark and yo...

An updated musette bag

I received a catalog today with this gem in it. It occurred to me that it might be something a 21st Century Indiana Jones might carry. It is called a "Fatboy" and is made by Maxpedition. I often wondered why valuable stuff didn't fall out of Indy's musette bag. http://www.maxpedition.com/p...
