I disagree about it being an MK VI, could be wrong but look at the strap holders, they are rings, the MK VI had D-rings. This is also a 1941 W&G. They produced the MK VI in 1942 as I recall. Illinois

I went throught he forum, and noticed two ways, one was stitching it, the other was adding an insole. Insole wont work because thy fit rather well, and stitching seems rather extreem. Any other ideas? Illinois.

Aldens arrived Friday...

but for some reason the toungues keep slipping to the outer side of the boot. This happen to anyone else? How does one fix it? Illinois

GOAT is awesome, I think GOAT would be the best bet. I love my WESTED GOAT. GOAT is soft but durable, making it ideal I think for a more realisitic material for the Indy jacket. If you remember anthing from my post let it be GOAT. Illinois Oh and did I mention GOAT?!!!

What else to darken boots...

besides pecards? Can any shoe polish be used? I've got dark brown totes shoe cream here which is an all in one conditioner and super shining agent. I have this for my work shoes. Can this be used on the aldens, this color now is hideous. If not I guess I will order pecards. Illinois

I have an original Mark vll from 1942. It say RMA inside. I purchases mine in 1971. I don't have the heart to remove the original canvas strap. I purchased one from WPG and the leather strap smelled so bad, I had to immerse it in a bath of odor remover for 24 hours. It still smelled after all this....
