Safari shirts coming back in style?
I've noticed recently that more and more people seem to be sporting epaulets and double pockets on their shirts. It's mainly among rock bands, namely Third Day, Relient K, and Hawk Nelson, but just yesterday at church I saw a fellow wearing a safari shirt that could pass for a close enough Indy shir...

The original MKVIIs never cease to amaze...
Yesterday I went kayaking with a friend out in Pensacola Bay, and coming back against the wind, we got splashed pretty good. I was wearing my MKVII to carry my watch and cell phone (in a ziploc inside,) and I had removed my leather strap from Todd and was using the webbing strap. After forty minutes...

Bullwhips in real life?
I'd heard it mentioned that a famous adventurer/arcaheologist carried a bullwhip with him on his travels. And I wanted to know, how would a bullwhip benefit an archaeologist in the real world, if at all?

Fabric weights?
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could give me a hand. I've been reading on the Magnoli Clothiers site about the different fabric weights, and it has me curious as to what some other fabrics weigh. I was wondering what the best weights are normally for conventional outdoor shirts and pants. Thanks,

I agree with J_Weaver, if I was to buy from Orvis I'd get the Calvary Twill pants; the price is just outrageous.

Re: The deal is sealed - Raiders revelation
Hey everyone, I just wanted to share with all of the fine folk here that I have come to a strange epiphany about the iconic Indy hat in a rather strange way. I am the proud owner of Fedora's Adventurebilt, truly the best and most accurate Raiders hat of all time - this is not news to anyone here, o...

Don't let anyone fool you. ALL the shirts are gunna be too baggy except the Magnoli cuz' you can custom order it to your size. Only problem with the Magnoli is that it's not made from the same material as the original, but overal, most people don't care about that. They just want a good, quality sh...

Well, the fog won't break till Saturday, so I went ahead and got some indoor photos. The colors came out pretty warm here, but they still give a nice view of the contrast between the shirt and the pants. I'm quite pleased with them.

Floribama, Good tip on the Magnoli shirt. Do you think you'll be posting pics of both the shirt and pants being worn? There are no pics of the Magnoli pants being worn other than the demo pair on the website. Which style pants did you get? Cotton? Twill? I'll post a picture of them together when I ...

Hemingway - No shrinkage at all. And with the fabric softened up a bit, the shirt is twice as much a pleasure to wear. Erri - The color is stone. In indoor lighting it looks a bit like the the TOD shirt as seen here: http://www.indygear.com/gear/images/Shirt-3_sm.jpg But in outdoor light I'm pretty ...

A Magnoli shirt after a wash. - Pants & shirt combo phot
Hi all, I received my Magnoli shirt and pants a couple of days ago, and I have to say that I am very pleased with them. I wasn't sure if anyone had posted a picture of one of the shirts after a trip through the wash yet, so here are a few shots of mine. The vertical "pleats" in the shirt p...

I used to hang my AB on a double hook on the wall of my room, but I got leery of the possiblity of a bump forming in the felt. Since then I've started laying it on the dresser with the front edge of the brim hanging off to preserve the downward turn, which I like to keep in the median between the Ra...

What I think is the biggest drawback to these arguments is that people try to take new hats and do things to them that just can't be done artificially. 3K$ is into the Cairo/Desert Chase look based on all the posts of his that I have read. But seriously, I think you make some good points there. So should we start another thread, Were Ford's Aldens pre-distressed or Not? They looked fairly bright when he was on Sallah's rooftop. My guess is that they didn't have to do much to the Aldens. Sand scratches stuff up pretty quick, and the d...
