Re: New Screencaped Last Crusade

Hi folks, Just wanted to show off my new Last Crusade in beaver from Brian Lalonde at Screencaped. This is an amazing hat, really robust and perfectly proportioned to my face shape and head size. Brian was great to deal with throughout the process. Can’t recommend his services enough. Can you tell ...

Re: Standard or long oval

Food for thought though, it is possible that your AB isn't in the same shape it was when Steve made it. Depending on use, and conditions when worn, it might be an entirely different shape now. Maybe even more fitted to your head on the sides, and more gappy in the front and back. The AB was always ...

Standard or long oval

It's been years since I've posted. Hi, all. When you have a long oval head, do you think it's better to get a long oval fedora, or get a standard shape and try to stretch it and shape it to your head? I have a long oval Adventurebilt that Steve made for me years ago, and it's quite good, but recentl...

I hope he feels better soon. Does anybody know if Steve was invited to the premier or to the set during filming? Or did he get free passes to see the the film as often as he likes? Surely he got some nice swag from this gig!

Just wanted to comment on the new hat... My first impression is that it needs more swoop in the brim. And am I seeing things, or is the hat (from the "x-mas card pic) actually turned on Ford's head, but to his left?

Sorry I couldn't find the original thread, but check out this pic of Colin Farrell on page 11 of the April issue of Playboy. This looks like a Raiders block to me. Could this be Fedora's celebrity client?

I was seriously starting to wonder too, as I ordered one a while back and hadn't heard anything. This is one reason COW is so great. I think the hat is a real beauty. You might consider putting a curl on the sides of the brim, if you really want to get the Last Crusade look. It really looks like an exceptional lid and very accurate to the film as well.

ideal popper condition?

As I said, I'm pretty new to bullwhips. The current popper at the end of my whip looks to be in pretty good condition, but the frays are very long. Would I get a better crack if I cut it down a tad? It seems like long frays would give a softer pop, in my naive opinion, granted I'm still only getting...

I agree. In some scenes, even in Raiders, it seems like he was wearing a smaller size. Especially when he wears it higher on his head like that or pushed back. why does the front of the LC fedora not slant backward?

What causes Indy's hat from Last Crusade to be straight up and down in front and back and not slanted in front like the Raiders lid? Is it the block shape? I popped out the crown on my AB just to see if I could get that straight front, but it always slants back once I start to pinch it. The Raiders ...

Thanks for posting those pics. That's a great-looking lid. If Steve doesn't get the contract for the new film, there's no justice in the world. The hat looks great like that! That effect definitely makes it instantly identifiable. Judging by Fedora's response, maybe the hat looks like that naturally before being finished by the hatmaker? At any rate, maybe that look will leave no shadow of doubt that it's not a cowboy hat!
