So then the question again is why does the shirt and pants who's designers are based in London have labels from the US based costume house. Just seems like odd. While the jacket, from the US based company (cooper) has the London based costumer's label?

I've always thought the buttons on the Raiders shirt were very close in color to the shirt itself (give or take a shade) and that the other films had more of a button contrast. Also, even though Noel Howard had these pants to copy, his repros didn't have the topstich around the pocket flaps or quite the right shape - so maybe not a perfectionist at all :wink:

So perhaps the LCL Cooper was actually made from copying a Keppler jacket.. Did Lee's early jackets have the backward straps like this jacket or leather facings behind the zips or lack of a bottom seam?

All we really know is that there is only SA for a specific sceen, so there is no reason to think they are anything other than TofD screen used pants, especially since Anthony Powell gave them to Noel after TofD shooting wrapped.

My Westeds were smaller than 9" across (18" total) I soaked them in hot water and stretched them and stretched them while they lay flat to dry and finally got them to about 18" total, they are 36 waist. Should be just slightly wider in my opinion.. these are TofD pants, perhaps a bit ...

Goat was unavailable in a Wested for a long time after they depleated their initial supplies.. so the old goat probably refers to that initial stock. Only recently has goat become available again at Wested... and it's apparently softer than before.

Ok, now I think I remember it reading that way too, now that you mention it.. but it has been available for about a year or so. However, I doubt they've sold many.. I can only think of one guy here that has one - Indiana G, I was going to be second but my CC wouldn't clear at Wested for some reason....

I think then, that there would always be a possibility of the top coat wearing through to reveal the darker color, which most people don't care for. I'm not sure you'd be able to dye the leather completely through.

I'd guess the material to be poplin, seems to have a wrinkle character like Todd's etc. Let us know if you find 'em.

That Belstaff almost looks like an oil pulled leather, do you know the tanning method by chance. Sleeve length is much better IMO. Rundquist - that's a pretty stuborn stance you have about the lambskin in view of the two examples I sighted, but then again you've recently bought a jacket of water buf...

jacksdad, I think you are confusing two different leathers. This particular leather has been in stock at Wested for some time now (1+years or so), the slightly green tinted Washed lambskin however, is new and only a very limited number will be made. I gotta agree with CM, sleeves drawing up to any significant amount because of wrinkling is pretty much a myth in my opinion. If any jacket would do that I think it would have to be really thick leather that holds it's form, but none of mine have, certainly none of the lambskin ones.

Looks like a Cooper (maybe Wings) cowhide to me.. the straps are on backwards like those, that's the main thing, then the lack of a bottom seam and pockets too.

So, it is an Indy style jacket that he sent you.. had the correct design, not an A2 or anything, right, wasn't a vintage jacket either? I know you didn't want alot of questions, but...I wanted to get that cleared up. Amazing story either way.

When done properly it doesn't look like anything abnormal is on the jacket, of course if you sprayed it heavy and let it pool up it would look weird. It's about $10 per can, only one was needed for mine - alot less than a professional doing it, if you could find someone I bet they'd use the same met...

Chew, that looks great on you! I think the extra length was a good choice also. Seems everyone offers a "washed lambskin" now and I have to say it does a much bettr job of looking adventurous than the regular stuff does IMHO.
