Congrats on your new whip Sakis. You made the right choice in going for a Morgan. I own an 8 footer myself and know the feelings you describe only too well. Enjoy your new whip. It will take a little time to loosen up and will in time become easier to work with. Just stick with it and above all HAVE...

Congrats on your new whip!
You actually don't have to do anything with it. The best way to break it in is to go out and use it. Once you have given it a couple of work outs it should become less stiff and easier to work with.

Good call Bufflehead. You may just have bought yourself a little piece of history in that whip if it is David's last.

Screen Accurate Whip

Here's one to get some good discussion going on here (especially among you whip makers) Who currently makes the most "screen accurate" indy bullwhip?

I know that DM was the maker of he day but his style has changed quite a bit since then.

That is a fantastic looking whip and very accurate to the DM style. I might be interested in getting one of these myself. can you PM me with details of cost etc.

PS the IOAB I bought from you recently is doing great and cracks really well.

I can only support what has already been said about Adam Winrich. I recently bought one of his IOAB bullwhips and am extremely impressed by it. If you want the Indy look for a reasonable price, look no further than Adam.

Congrats on the new whip. The pictures look great, very Morgan like....Did you ask for it to look a certain way or is this Robert's standard design? Whatever, it looks a great whip!

Whip Care

I have read so many different things on this subject. One school of thought seems to be do not get your whip wet under any circumstances and others seem to think that getting a whip wet is not really a big deal... I live in the Uk where, yes, it rains a lot. I'm not talking about actually practising...

I have handled the DM, Strain and Duke versions of the Indy whip and can honestly say that for me Strain's whip impressed the most.
It IS braided far tighter than the DM and has less weight about it but in my opinion is a better whip, especially given the cost of a new DM whip.

You are right, I have just looked through some of the whip scenes in TOD and the whip in each case does look to be a darker color than in Riaders.

Hi all
I'm new to the forum but have been "lurking" in the background for a little while now.
That is a great looking whip although I do tend to agree that it does look a little on the new side. Still, if I had $12k to play with then I might just consider it...

New Guy

Hi, I'm new to the forum but have been interested in bullwhips and Indiana Jones stuff in general since I was about eight years old. My first whip was a fairly cheap Spanish cowhide bullwhip which took a lot of punishment I can tell you, but sadly I've had to lay it to rest. Anyway, just saying hi.....
