Hi Pagey, Cryptid, Zach, VP, Skippy, ob1al, et al. Yup, I was very pleased to find that I could get hold of a jacket over here. I'm looking forward to getting measured up at Wested (I'm on the way with shifting that spare tire), ordering any kind of clothing over the web is a bit nerve wracking sinc...

I got hold of some Red Wings a couple of days ago. I went for the 8146 model, though the ones I got are slightly more red/brown than the picture link posted by Indiana Jerry. They had the 8249 model which was slightly cheaper but the sole on the ones they had in stock wasn't a rugged walking boot ty...

Hi Sakis, SoF is 'Soldier of Fortune', a shop based in Wales who sell various army goods. You can find their site at: http://www.sofmilitary.co.uk/ click into the re-enactors section and choose British WWII > Equipment > Field Equipment. The decent MkVII bags are all on the last page of three which ...

I think that the Aldens look great and would have no qualms in spending that much cash on shoes that would last a lifetime. However, I would HAVE to try them on. I've got a foot size that is somewhere between 8 and 8 1/2, depending on the shoe model. Can't see myself getting across the pond any time...

Thanks for the warm welcome folks. Yes, I was suprised about the good condition of the Mk VII considering it was the £30 one rather than the unissued £50. SoF did take a long time to deliver though, more than a week before they sent it out. I tentatively gave it a hand wash to get rid of the musty s...

Thanks Mat. I'm planning to get down to Wested to get measured up around November. I couldn't believe my luck when I found they were so close to London. I'll take plenty of pics when I go. My kids are also fans of the movies so will be thrilled to spend a day meeting the guys who made the original j...

Another MkVII and another Newbie says hi
Hi Folks! OK, it all started with repurchasing some of my favorite video's on DVD, which included the remastered Indiana Jones trilogy. Watching the films again re-inflamed my childhood Indy obsession and inspired me to do a Google on 'Indiana Jones Jacket'.... Well, that led me here (where I discov...
