I've always thought the screen bag looked larger as well. When I finally got my original bag a few months ago, I was really surprised at how small it was. I'm 6'3", and it looks small on me...more like a purse than a rugged all-purpose bag. I wore it to work and an old Marine who works for me s...

I want it to hang just below my belt line. My torso isn't terriby long in relation to the rest of me, so I don't think it'll be that much of an issue. And, this is for daily use, so I'm not hung up on how it looked on screen. I'm not a costume type of guy. You'll never catch me dressing up like Indi...

How are bag straps measured?

Now that I have to get a new strap for my bag, I'm curious as to how they are measured. Are they measured from tip to tip, or does the measurement include the "loop" once it has been attached? I'm 6'3" and am going back and forth between Todd's 65" and 72". Also, anyone know...

Well, the dilemma of whether or not to remove the strap is solved. I had the bag hanging from a halogen floor lamp, with the strap placed around the bowl, whatever you want to call it at the top. I hadn't used the lamp in a few days. For some reason I turned it on last night, though set low, and com...

I just purchased on original MK VII from WPG, and my expectations for the bag were COMPLETELY exceeded. The bag looks like it was just manufactured. Not a mark on it, which is amazing for something this old. It's W&G 1942. I can't say enough good things about the bag, and the speedy service. The...

The repair I had done was to a flight jacket, one of theirs. I had the collar replaced, which they offer as a service and charge you for. So, my expectation was for that of a clean job. More damage was done to the jacket by virtue of repairing it than what it was sent in for. If you saw it, you'd sa...

I don't understand how the goat has been discontinued. There's plenty of goat skin for all the other jacket makers out there to keep on making goat skin jackets. There are other suppliers out there. Why not just source a new supplier?

Depends on how "slender" you are. I had always heard that GB sizes ran big to accomodate the "modern" (fat) build. I've always been told to order one size down. I wound up having to go one size larger to get it to fit me properly in the chest and shoulders. I'm 6' 3" and bou...

Their jacket is also based directly off of a screen-used jacket. So, in that sense, it's one step closer to "the real deal" than the Wested is. ??? Wested made the jackets for the movies, and their jackets are based off of those patterns. it doesn't get any closer than that. Correct me, b...

Go with Gibson and Barnes if you can't get the goat from Wested. Their goat is awesome, and the jackets are a bit more sturdily constructed. Their jacket is also based directly off of a screen-used jacket. So, in that sense, it's one step closer to "the real deal" than the Wested is.

The problem is the "crazies". Lots of people are nuts. They have this expectation that somehow, a garment should fit them as though the maker had a full-sized model of their body for size reference, and for every minute detail to be produced as they see it in their mind's eye...as though i...

Yep. The biggest reason cited wasn't difficulty with the design per se. It was difficulty in coming up with a design that would please the die-hard collectors and fans. FS/ GB already makes a gorgeous Indy jacket that we all know is very well built...moreso than the Wested is. Aero's construction will no doubt be rock solid, but I would think on par with FS. The only thing that Aero seems to offer that few other dealers do that would justify the jump in price for t...

Aero jackets are gorgeous. I just ordered an AN6552 about a month ago. They're a top quality garment all around, but also a top dollar one. Then again though, an Aero jacket will last you a lifetime. They're heirloom jackets, really. I was sort of forced to order mine by the rapidly diminishing valu...

Too true. The ONLY reason that I ordered the M-422a was that I've wanted one forever and would never pay $528.00 for one. Even at $428.00, it was hard for me to justify it. But, with that price point evaporating, and my chances of getting a quality M-422 along with it...it had to be now or never. Fu...

Yeah, I don't know exactly what to make of that. It seems like they're pushing their price point closer to "high end" purveyors of repros and custom jobs, and yet, they appear to be scaling back their service offerings and custom options. Not a good sign. It obviously doesn't mean the end ...

Skippy- Nope. I'm not round shouldered at all, and am not carrying any real extra weight. I'm 6' 3" and weigh bewteen 200 and 215 pounds depending on the time of year. I just weighed myself...213. No paunch, no hunkered over posture. . I'm tall, with broad shoulder, and well proportioned.

Gussets

You might be able to have FS make you up an A-2 minus the epaulets. Since it doesn't have the gussets, it would mean that they would simply have to omit the gussets. It wouldn't really change the structure or pattern of the jacket. They might offer it. The CWU does not have epaulets or gussets. It's...
