Re: What do you put in your bag?

Did discover something rather interesting: the bag accommodates -- perfectly -- an iPad 2.
Put the charging cord in one of the smaller pockets, and you're good to go. ;)

Anecdote: Next month my naval reserve unit is throwing a dinner / dance with the theme of Oscar / Stars night. Upon finding out about this, I was then asked by several of my co-workers NOT to wear fedora / leather jacket / etc. Why? "You wear that stuff so often, it's your NORMAL CLOTHES now an...

I look at it this way: Hat + jacket + shoulder bag does not equal costume. Hat + jacket + shoulder bag + khaki pants does not equal costume. Hat + jacket + shoulder bag + khaki pants + adventure shirt + sweater does not equal costume in wintertime. Hat + jacket + shoulder bag + khaki pants + adventu...

Thoughts on a new Wested

I ordered a Last Crusade model about three weeks ago, after 4 or 5 drinks (took that many to work up the nerve). A few thoughts: 1. Took about 3 weeks to arrive, which is pretty nice service. 2. Total cost works out to about $400 CDN (including customs duties). 3. Giving a suit size works very well ...

A pocket watch? Maybe. But Indy did fight in WW1, and his battle experience would probably dispose him favorably towards a wristwatch. Which one? If not the Hamilton,or the Waltham, then probably the Ingersoll or Cartier tank watch. Since he's earning a university lecturer's salary which probably is...

Well, we know from the Indiana Jones Bonus Materials DVD that the crown was said to be too high for a conventional fedora. But that was what Steven and the costumer wanted: a hat style that would be instantly recognizable and distinctive at first glance. A hat with a shorter crown would not have had...

Double Indy?

Just got back from the Toronto CNAnime Expo. General sci-fi convention. Had a pic taken and thought I'd see what people think. I've got the post up here: http://phantomobserver.blogspot.com/2005/08/random-thoughts-on-canadian-anime-expo.html And I'll try to reproduce the picture here: http://photos1...

I just watched HF on the Lucas AFI tribute, and not only does HF say that Indy is very very near to his heart and he loves the character and is anxious to get going on IJIV, but he looked great!!!! He did not look "old" at all, and was joking, and running down the stage and it gave me add...

Or maybe Peter Mayhew as a sidekick. this man??? (image deleted) Exactly. That man. If you have the Star Wars Trilogy Bonus Materials DVD, you'll have a scene where Chewbacca says, in plain English, "The man's mad." (It's unclear whether he's referring to Lucas or Obi-Wan. :)) Pete...

or maybe Ben Affleck as one of Indy's students. You are joking right?!? Hey, he's no stranger to comedies and action-adventure films. And he's done Harrison Ford-type roles before. I mean who would you prefer in that type of role? George Eads? Chris Rock? Of course, an inspired bit of casti...

1. An aged-Indy script will work pretty well. There's an opportunity for more comic bits (i.e. Indy bullwhipping the wrong target due to declining eyesight). 2. And speaking of eyesight ... it wouldn't hurt for Indy to wear an eyepatch this movie, right? :) 3. The market's starting to look better fo...

I've owned a WPG for about 4 months now, and I gotta say it's a pretty good bag. Stitching holds up very well. The leather strap's a little stiff but I think it'll soften with time.

Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Taper?

Silly question, I know. It's just that I'm a bit surprised by all the concern about a taper. Two years ago I got a Stetson Temple from hats.com. Already tapered, I know, and I've worn it through a Vancouver rainstorm, had boots dropped on it when it fell off a chair, etc. I admit I wince when I look...

General rule of thumb: If you have to choose between buckle placement and bag length, choose the bag length. The top of the bag should be just below the waistband of the trousers, no more than an inch or two below depending on contents. Also, it's not just height, but the width of the chest, that de...

I have to agree with the idea of uneven distressing on the jacket. This habit does lead to a minor continuity goof in LC, when Indy and Dad escape from the castle. In one shot, Indy collects his bag and Dad's satchel and slings the bag over his shoulder, over the jacket. In the next shot, the bag is...
