Re: Nice Brim Work... Blehh
From what Ive been able to gather since messing around with the fedoras, whether its my AB or federation or Akubra Bushman. I learned that the key to the brim swoop you are seeking is to wear your hat not too far down on your head. Having an upward tilt to it while making sure the hat is turned enou...

Re: Nice Brim Work... Blehh
Right but you can beat on the brim a little. Work it with your fingers. Look at some pictures from the scene u want. I usually look at the little flips and nuances in the brim from Raiders screen shots. Watch the dvd how Harrison plays with the brim on it and pulls it tight to his head while not let...

Re: Nice Brim Work... Blehh
Dont be afraid to use some cold water and beat the snot out of it to acheive desired results. My new Fed 4 just arrived and I was able to distress and bash the brim. Idol Grab scene i think. I leave that to the beholders here. http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/3193/fed2.jpg http://img44.imageshack.us...

That is a nice job on that hat! I just ordered the Fed 4. I know I will be able to enjoy it with a little work put into it.

Thanks guys!! yeah it should fit. If not, i will get some styrofoam and it will shrink to my head eventually as did my akubra. The odd thing is, i asked the seller the specs of the head. He said it was a 1 1/2 inch ribbon, 5 inch crown, and 2 3/4 inch brim all the way around. But from the picture of...

Im glad to hear Steve and Marc got the job. Truly amazing!! I wonder how other hatters, especially HJ reacted to that news!! maybe they thought they would be approached about the new hat. maybe not....even so, they might just look into providing more accurate indy hats in the future. just a thought...

Does anyone know if Fedora does a reblocking of other hats say an Akubra? And if he does how much would he charge?

New HJ vs. AB beaver
Hey all,
Does anybody have the new HJ with the original Raiders block? If so, how does is stack up against the Adventurebilt beaver. In reference to block shape, taper, color, felt quality, brim shape, crown shape, and screen accuracy. Thanks,

WPG shirt
Thanks for your input everyone. I appreciate it. I have another question. I just got the WPG shirt in the mail and I love it. The only thing is its a little big and the pleats arent wrinkly. How do I get this effect? And when I wash it for the first time, should it be hot or cold water? with deterge...

What Price Glory shirt??
Hey all,
I just ordered a WPG indy shirt from Todd's Costumes. Do any of you have this shirt or know how is stacks up against the other available shirts such as Wested, and how screen accurate it is? Thanks

Hat turning
Thank you for your replies. I checked out Raiders hat.com and, 3thoubucks, I thought it was excellent. Over the weekend I turned my fedora 2/3 inches off center and it looks even more like Raiders. I am totally satisfied with the results. I always wondered why the brim looked different in the Bar sc...

What is a turned hat anyway?
Hello all, Ive been a Club Obi Wan member for some time, but dont do
alot of posting. I was wondering what exactly a hat turn is, what it entails, and how many of you have had this done to your hats? Any replies would be appreciated.

Jersey Raider.

About a year ago, I purchased a regular mid brown Akubra Federation. I did NOT like the color at all as it was almost BLACK out of direct light. In the light it became lighter but it was a weird greenish color, as the Raiders hat was medium brown with a redish tint, and tan in sunlight. I had no exp...
