The P37 will work okay, Like Jack said they were made for the 380 revolvers and will take the Browning HP pistol. If I were you I would look for a Canvas 455 Holster. These were made for the larger frame Webley Mk6s; and similar S&W and Colt revolvers that were reissued during WW2. They sell for...

Looks to me like a S&W model 10 with a heavy barrel in 38 special, like the Model 13, and 65 both 357 magnums. Not bad guns but the heavy barrel model 10 was not produced until after WW2.

455 Mk4 or 380 Mk4? Both excelent guns. The 380 is probably the strongest 38S&W caliber gun made. I recently bought a copy of the book Illistrated Encyclopeidia of Guns and it has a picture of a Mk4 380 barrel that was cut down the center. It had seven rounds of 380 FMJ ammo lodged in it, and th...

I did not mean to imply that all the men and officers should have gone out and purchased private better weapons. I was merely saying that until they joined the military most of them had probably never handled a gun. While at the start of WW1 a great many of the officers had private arms and were kno...

Yes by the second world war the officers were pretty much stuck with what they were issued. Of course private ownership of firearms had become much harder in in england during the 1920s so most officers, and men, probably had very little to no experience with firearms by WW2.

There is documentation of Brittish officers using webley fosberys at the start of the war as well as the Mauser broomhandle.

Also Officers were allowed to purchase any sidearm they wished providing it chambered the .455 catridge. Webley Greenes, Webley&Scott target models, Webley Wilkensons, and even the legendary Webley Fosbery auto-revolver were quite popular with some officers. And some officers completely broke th...

Well hornady just started making 455 webley ammo but it costs over .80 a round. Also I have heard of several people reworking moonclips to work with 455 ammo for converted guns. Actually 45acp Webleys can be very accurate if you find a load or manufacterer they like, and even with normal 45acp ammo ...

I have found records that there were at least two orders for 4in Mk6 revolvers by police agencies. Most of the sources I have seen claim they were not intended for that sale but were special order models. One order went to the Royal Irish Constabulry (R.I.C.) in the late 20s to early 30s and were st...

Yes those Mark 6 Webleys certainly have a style all there own. Perhaps the best made Military revolver. When you find the proper loading they can be very accurate, inside thier range limitations, and they weigh the same as a colt 1911, unloaded. Just the barrel shape and the workmanship to get a pro...

Are you sure? I'll have to rewatch the movie agian but it looks like it has rounded "Bird's Head" style grips when he reaches for it. And the barrel looks a little shorter than six inches, but Webley did make several runs of 4in mark 6 revolvers with the standard squared grip frame for col...

Which Webley?

You probably have noticed that there is no standard Webley revolver in TLC. I hace seen 1 of the common Mk6 revolvers, when Indy is in the Austrian Castle. 1 of the earlier Mk revolers probably the MK4 or 5 when he pulls it out of his pocket to shoot at the German Fighter plain. And 1 WG (Webley-Gre...

Of all the hand guns that appeared, not limited to any charactor, in the trilogy what is your favorite?
I have always had asoft spot for the Webley revolver and Mauser Broomhandle pistol.

First post!

Well this is my first post but I am pretty familiar with the Webley MK6. Believe it or not the Mk6 was originally sighted for 50yards with the original loading. And I have got good accuracy out to 25-30yrds with the proper ammo. They can be a little finicky but are still very accurate. I have out sh...
