The pleats are the only thing I hate about my Wested. Love the look and feel of the jacket but I guess it's just my build that makes the pleats buldge open at the top. I just hate the profile view of the jacket. I did not get the elastic and wonder if I should have. The only saving grace is that it ...

Binkmeister, They are legit. This site has been around for a long time. I was going to buy a B3 from them last Fall and spoke with them a few times. Most sems imported but some is made by them or at least under contract. I needed a long and they were out of stock but offered to make on up if I had a...

Michaelson, You are probsbly right, I was think this last night when I tried mine back on. If I loosen them a bit the jacket does hang a little better. My shoulders rolling forward does impact it a lot too. if I pull them back straight like a normal person instead of like the ape I am <g> things loo...

Rigor, It may very well be a result of each persons unique shape. I love everything about my TOD Lambskin except that hunchback buldge. My shoulders roll forward slightly even when standing very straight. My jacket buldges quite a bit in the back. It is still fairly new so maybe in time this will ge...

Plus I also remember hearing that Indy wore more than one jacket for going under the truck. indy.gif -IJ Exactly. And he had to have worn mult...

Swindiana, I will get a pic or two later tonight. I was really waiting till I got it distressed though as all I did was the inner pocket facing so far as a test. I loved the way that turned out as well as the new fit. It actually looks more like a raiders now than a TOD since it shrunk more in lengt...

Lao, Mine was a 48L and now it seems to fit like other 46L jackets I have. It shrunk more in length than width which worked out well as the sleeves were way too long. I would really suggest getting the correct size initially though. I found it interesting that even with good measurments it is hard t...

Swindiana, I took the wet jacket technique that shrunk my old A2 and resized my Wested as it really needed to go down a full size. This is really a do it at your own risk method but for me it worked well. One wet jacket, one dryer, a dry iron and a damp towel and creative blocking to give a final ha...

Swindy, I automatic rain sizing thing has been tried by me once before! I had an Avirex Horsehide A2 that I got caught in the rain in. I dried it as best I could with towels, hung it in a cool place to dry and it went from a 46L to a 44L...........I though stayed at 46L which posed a real problem! T...

Got My Wested Today!
Got my new Wested today, what a nice jacket. I ordered mine on 12/8/04 and it was delivered today, 1/8/05. Mine is an authentic lambskin, TOD. I ordered the double underarm gussets, square sliders, one inside pocket and cotton lining in the body and the satin like material in the arms. The fit seems ...

I had an older very similar whip for years I kind of enjoyed. I dug it out recently and had some great fun with it. I just got two from ebay very similar to yours and was not quite as impressed as with my old one. The heft and design was similar but the leather finish and braiding has slipped a good...

Flattery, Great jacket. I ordered a TOD in early December and was not thinking much about it until seeing yours. Now I can hardly wait. Peter was thinking mine would be ready the week after Xmas. I got the authentic lambskin w/double gussets under the arms like on yours. Cotton/Satin lining, double ...

Those inexpensive whips are pretty easy to find. I got one at a country fair and ebay abounds with them. While a far cry from a well made whip they do serve as an introduction before spending big $$ on a well made whip from one of the fine craftsmen on this list. It won't handle as well, look as goo...

Man....why didn't I order mine a week earlier! Having bad luck with my US Wings B3 as well. They talked me into one way too big. Sent it back for another, not Avirex this time cut differently but again too big. They had a 46L set aside to ship yesterday and the girl calls today to tell me they lost ...

I think I would contact the maker first just to be safe. While my B3 is not made by them many have a lacquer finish over the sheepskin hide to seal it as you are not dealing with the skin side of the leather on one of these. If lacquered the Pecards really won't penetrate the surface or may cause a ...

Thanks for the Cooper / US Wings info. It looks like they are thinning out the Aiveirex stuff too as the first B-3 they sent me was an Avirex which was too large. They replaced it with a US Wings branded jacket which was equally as long just narrower. I asked whether the next replacement (long story...

Slightly off topic but on several threads I have noticed Cooper and U.S. Wings mentioned together and I think at least one stating Cooper makes the U S Wings branded jackets. I was on the phone today trying to get the right B-3 jacket sent to me (third try BTW) and mention one of them was branded Av...

Okay, it is authentic lambskin, not dark. As for Indy gear I am gathering info to make a Grail Diary. That is what first got me into this. I was captivated by that little book and the treasures it contained. making one, researching it, perfecting the srt and age will be a quest in it's own right. To...

Pretty basic really after checking all the suggestions. I went with an authentic dark lambskin TOD jacket to get a bit of extra length. I wanted an extra inside pocket with minimal facing, nylon zippers on the inside pockets. Double underarm gussets as I want the movement for driving. Cotton lining,...

New To Group, Just Ordered a Wested
Hello, I can't believe I never found this site till now. It's like a dream come true. I thought I was the only nut in his basement late at night "ruining" his new leather jacket! I own a few A2 jackets from U. S. Wings, had a horse hide Avirex A2 and their B3 as well. None were quite what ...
