Yeah its been worn, and not lightly either. Its very durable stuff. The only wear it shows is on main rub areas: end of the cuffs, some on the collar, a few places on the edges of the back panel, and down the storm flap from seatbelt rubbing. The interior portions of the hide are as pristine as when...

I've used the clip method. Instead of soaking in hot water, I used Pecards, got it nice and lathered up then put an old T-shirt over the top of the collar and used binder spring clips (springloaded clothespins work too) and let it sit for a few days. The shirt did a pretty good job of preventing mar...

so Goat and Horse are the top choices in terms of durability. What are the pros and cons of each? How do they compare? How are they different? Pro's are that they are both tough and very water resistant. Cons, well that might be heavily subject to opinion. Horse will likely be a heavier jacket is o...

Wested HH and Aero FQHH, they are both high quality, but very different. Its apples and oranges really. You would need the aero midweight hide to make a good comparison. Besides weight, the finishes on the hides Aero uses are very succeptable to wear (i.e distresses easily), and the wested looks new...

I've had my Wested HH for almost 4 years, and it hasn't really distressed much at all. Some of the seams have wear and it has developed a nice grain in many areas with the wrinkles we all love on the sleeves, but its held up quite well. It is VERY durable. Wested doesn't advertise any other jackets ...

To be completely honest, I'd say today's fashions are more function over form than they were in the earlier parts of last century. I'd say it was the opposite. I can't speak for the rules of fashion at the beginning of the 20th century, but things were made to last back then. Stuff was handed down,...

Toughness is a relative, subjective term.....some lamb might be tougher than others (lamb that it) based on the what part of the animal it is, the age of the animal when it was harvested etc. But I'd have to agree with Flathead, its not tough as leathers go. Its like comparing the hardness of pine t...

Welcome, From what I have seen and read here, I don't think you can go wrong with either choice. While I don't own a Wings, goat will be more water resistant and marginally more durable than the cowhide, but I have not heard about the VIP cow being less durable because of where it came from on the a...

There isn;t any way for you to know how stiff it is from the photos....it could be quite soft, but since its likely thicker than the lambskin, and doesn't crinkle like wet toilet paper, it just APPEARS to be stiff.
