Specs

Thanks for posting that Fedora, I couldn't figure out how to link up the pics you sent me. The specs are as follows: size 7 3/8 6" open crown Front and back brim 2 7/8" Sides 2 5/8" 1 3/4 " ribbon. It's funny how small the crowns on my other hats look now after wearing this hat. ...

RECEIVED - Fedora's pure Beaver Fedora

I am proud to say that I am the VERY happy owner of one (soon to be two!) of Fedora's new pure Beaver Raiders hats. I opted for the pure TN beaver and I'm very happy. The hat is top-shelf all the way. Hand sewn liner, gorgeous ribbon, sweatband, etc. The fit is terrific. It is my first Beaver hat, a...

The good thing about Wings is if you don't like it, you can return it for a refund, so there really is no hassle. As I stated in my post a while back, I was not happy with the cut or color. It is certainly a quality jacket as far as construction goes, I just prefer Wested and Flightsuits over them. ...

You wear the same size shirt as I do (16/34). The large NH shirt fits me perfectly like the movie - snug but not tight. Best regards.

Can someone comment on their Wested rectangular slides? I thought in the pic of MK's new jacket they are brass - don't they carry black?

I received the US Wings Kangaroo but decided to return it. The quality is certainly there, but I was not crazy about the color of the jacket in person. It looked better on their website. In person, it was a flat light brown. It did not have the vintage look that I saw on their website. It looked ver...

Thanks for the replies fellas, I am eager to get this jacket! I will post my thoughts once I have it in hand. If anyone hears from _, please ask him to give me his thoughts, as I know he owns or maybe owned at one point a Roo jacket. Best regards, Chris

Ordered my first US Wings - owners please comment

I ordered my first US Wings - an Indy Kangaroo, and was just curious if US Wings owners would care to comment on how they like their jackets. I own jackets from all of the other makers except this one. I have always had my eye on that Kangaroo hide as it is really unique. They still had my size in s...

Pyro, IMHO stay away from this shirt. I ordered two and returned them within 1 hour of receiving them! They are made of a really heavy uncomfortable cotton, and fit VERY snugly. Personally, I don't like shirts that are this heavy. The stitching is strong, but the cut of the two I got was inconsisten...

Thanks MK!

Just the man I wanted to hear from! Unfortunately, I just learned that I have to come into the office on Sat., but hopefully I'll be out by 3:00 so I can start the process shortly thereafter. As soon as it's done, I'll see if I can purloin from friends dig camera and get some pics up. Best regards, ...

Thanks Michaelson!

Thanks for the find Michaelson! I placed an order with Pecards yesterday, and can't wait to try it out! I had been debating over whether or not to start applying Aldens medium brown shoe cream, or just stick to the standard dressing which is what I had been using up until now. I have the leather lot...

Acetone on a Wested Lamb - please comment!

I bought the acetone lat night, and I'm going to dive in this weekend, but I have a few more questions. Michaelson referenced that using rubbing alcohol (to age) will dry out the Lamb. What about acetone? Also, I remember someone referenced that simple green can be used when you are done to remove t...

P.S. How much alcohol did you go through, and how long did it take? My guess is that the alcohol is not as potent as the acetone, so maybe it takes a little longer? Thanks again!

Nice job! :D I had no idea you could use rubbing alcohol instead of acetone! I have seen MK's posting on his website, and I have been dying to try this, but I am a bit hesitant, simply because I don't know what areas to work-over! Could you please advise as to what areas you go over? Specifically, h...
