For those who prefer an in-universe explanation, Indiana Jones and the Army of the Dead by Steve Perry (pp. 8-9) has Indy going to great lengths to maintain the same hat he received in 1912: https://www.google.com/books/edition/Indiana_Jones_and_the_Army_of_the_Dead/fgnBeOLcpW0C?hl=en&gbpv=1&...

Re: Did Indy wear a Stetson?

Years ago, I inherited a Stetson Indy from my grandfather. No idea where or when he got it, but it certainly seems like one of the lobby Stetsons Michaelson described. The felt feels super fine (and stiff), almost like beaver, and has held up rather well despite what looks like regular wear. But I d...

That's a beautiful Young Indy hat! I've always liked the YIJ hat the way it was early in the series (the Mexico and England episodes, especially) and I think you captured that look perfectly. That's the thing about the YIJ hat, it aged along with the show. Looked great in the beginning but near the ...

Which scene was that in? Well, it appeared in the filming done in Hawai. I'm certainly no expert on the theater hats, but yours certainly looks like the real deal to me!
