Go to Pep Boys or wherever, and pick up some "Wet-Dry" sandpaper in the paint / body-work section. Get a rat-tail file for the inside angles, and a flat file for the outer ones. Do all the filing first, to get the edges smoothed down, then hit it with the sand paper. That will give it a ni...

Keep looking on Ebay for a proper Webley holster. If you don't like it, you can always put it BACK on Ebay and sell to someone else. They'll usually be pre-distressed (60-80 years worth of weathering). You can also search for vintage leather holster and get a couple close-enough hits for low $$. Per...

Jim, IMA makes beautiful stuff! the .38 Webley is a bit smaller than the .455. The IMA holster is for the larger pistol. The .38 will rattle around a bit in there. I have an original Very Signal pistol holster, and it's pretty huge on the webley too. The bottom of the holster flares out a bit to fit...

Hit Ebay.

The leather holsters for the .38s are usually in better shape than their .455 cousins. I got a mint South African holster a few years ago for $20, plus shipping.

M1 Carbine is a great choice for the period. Take a look at "The Day the Earth Stood Still" and every trooper in it seems to have a carbine AND a 45. There's a great bit where Klaatu gets his "Gift" out, and all the GIs draw on him, including the guys sitting inside a tank!

I'm going to cast my vote on the "NO" side. From personal experience, I can assure you that law enforcement/security will definitely err on the side of PUBLIC SAFETY, and you will be asked to step outside/lay face-down on the pavement, while they check out the bonafides of your weapon/perm...

400.00 seems a bit high for a .38 version. They are generally not as in demand as the .455.
