Re: Indy's TOD fedora STOLEN

Ghost and the Darkness was a good movie; Val Kilmer was also very good in Tombstone. He wore a nice hat as Doc Holiday, a hat shaped by Tom Hirt. Hirt has made a lot of hats for movies. Sam Eliot usually wears Hats made by him. Watched Tombstone on Blu-ray two days ago. The movie is a bit of a mess...

How to fix saggy cargo pockets

I've been stupid enough to actually use the cargo pockets and handwarmers on my six-year-old Raiders wested, which caused them to sag and completely ruin the look of the jacket. This, and the revelation that the wested COA isn't worth the paper it's printed on, stopped me from wearing it for more th...

Re: Watching KOTCS again tonight

The more I watch CS the more I like it. After doing an Indy marathon for the 30th I felt that it was a pretty good (no, not the best) addition to the series. I agree, if you watch all the movies back-to-back, CS actually segues in pretty nicely. I still find a lot of Koepp's dialogue pretty clunky,...

That ad seems a little too good to be true... looks like something made by a fan.
According to the Making of Indiana Jones book, Lucas wanted a hat similar to Bogart's in Treasure of the Sierra Madre. Bogart used to have a tight pinch on his hats.

Having a roundish head, I didn't achieve a nice 'long oval' brim swoop on my Henry until I padded out the front of the sweatband.

Comparing the scene with the location photographs, I'm struck by how meticulously detailed the soundstage reconstruction is, right down to the bricks, rails, and concrete in the pavement. This strikes me as odd compared to how relatively unconvincing some of the other soundstage stuff is, like the R...

Actual eyewitness testimonies are no match from the wisdom one draws from scrutinizing grainy stills.
There's no way the Bantu Wind was built on set, it's too big. Just like the Temple of Doom, which was shot in an actual mine in India... :[

Re: FED IV and FED IV Deluxue

The Deluxe was subjected to far worse treatment for about twelve times longer than the regular, and did not shrink at all. Mind you, the regular did only shrink a half-size, but that was enough to render it useless for me. The difference in felt quality is huge, though. It's like comparing petting a...

Unless you have ordered already, you might want to consider my Fed story. I bought a Deluxe five years ago, and wore it daily, in all kinds of weather and conditions.
