Bi-swing back vs. A-2 design

The Raiders jacket, as well as the Navy's G-1 have an action back, designed to expand, whereas the Air Force A-2 has a one piece back. I have a G&B Expedition and am contemplating purchasing an A-2. Can someone comment on whether there is a difference in comfort between the two designs? Do the b...

Interfacing--why?

I've got two Flight Suits jackets (one of them an Expedition). They are great, but I do notice they both have that crinkly sounding interfacing in the collars and pocket flaps. I know there is a reason for this, but can someone tell me the purpose of interfacing in those places? Thanks...pwd

Rundquist, I just got my FS Civil G-1 (with leather collar) seal brown goatskin yesterday--a grand piece of work. I notice under the left pocket flap on the outside of the pocket there is a small piece of square leather stitched in. It looks like a pencil holder, but appears non-functional, as the s...

Rundquist, You said the G-1 is warmer than an Indy jacket ever will be. Why is that? Does it come standard with insulation? I assumed it would, weightwise, be comparable to an Expedition, but with knit cuffs and waistband. I'm thinking of ordering a G-1, but if it is truly only a cold weather jacket...

Sorry, MK. This is what I was referring to. It's not goatskin after all. It was posted by junior back in January...pwd "I was speaking with one of the sales staff about one of their jackets and he mentioned the hide that they are working on for both the Raider jacket and the Expedition. This hi...

Rundquist,

I've been looking at the FS G-1 in their old catalog. Can you describe what the map pocket is like on the G-1? I have an Expedition, and was wondering what the difference was in interior pockets. Thanks...pwd

Is FS on the verge of a new distressable goatskin?

Did I read something here recently (from MK, I think) that indicated Flight Suits was working on a new goat that could be more easily distressed? Does anyone have late word on that project? Thanks.....pwd

IJ IV Question

With talk of the next movie coming out either in 2004 or 2005, I'm assuming in the near future (especially given a 2004 release) that a decision will be made (if it hasn't been already) concerning a vendor for the jackets. Do you think we will know who the vendor is before the movie hits, or not unt...

Naturally aged Expedition--Is it possible?

I have a new seal brown goat Expedition from Flightsuits I've been wearing for several months now. Not a believer in artificial aging, and having read in the past posts about the difficulty of artificially distressing this leather, I'm wondering what I can expect in the way of aging over the years. ...
