Men today look likes slobs. I couldn't agree more, RenderKing. I work in a profession that generally allows/encourages a very casual dress code. I usually prefer to keep a "professional" image by dressing in at least oxford shirts, chinos and occasionally a sport coat (depending on the eve...

I love how a "large" in European sizing is about a 34" waist pant or a American size medium at best.

Guess we American's are truly "super-sized!"

Potentially nice buy for you smaller dudes.

Hi ho glove seekers, I've been using these type of gloves all my life (I grew up on a ranch in North Dakota) so I thought I'd throw my .02 worth in. First, these gloves are awesome. The cow leather ones are tough as can be. I use them when installing barbed-wire, hauling equipment...well just about ...

I use my handwarmer pockets to store my gloves only, since I'm a bit paranoid about more important items (keys, journal, etc.) falling out accidentally. Opposite of Sergei, I keep my lucky lighter in my right cargo pocket and my keys in my left. My left-handedness might account for the difference :w...

US Wings New Cow VIP

Woohoo \:D/ It finally arrived! I'm sitting here typing in my new US Wings VIP and am lovin' it. If you've seen my earlier post (http://www.indygear.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6226) then you know that I've been waiting for an exchange on the Vintage since Christmas. The delay in exchanging was due to...

Nice lookin' boots! Is there any way that you can swing buying the boots now and turning in the receipt in November? If your employer doesn't care when you bought the boots, rather just that you have a receipt, you could get 11 good months of wear on them by Turkey Day. Just a thought... TreasureHun...

Here is another alternative I just saw in the Filson catalog/website (Single tin pants, dry finish in dark tan color). I haven't seen these in person, but Filson usually puts out a nice product, in not a bit expensive. Unfortunately the website only shows the khaki color, but the mag show the "...

Whew! Glad to hear I was wrong. :) Sorry to worry anyone (IndyBlues) . Like I mentioned, I know a previous version didn't have the handwarmers, but apparently they got enough complaints to pull the initial offering and replace it. I have had nothing but excellent service from Cabela's and thi...

I was at Cabela's a few weeks ago, but they didn't have this jacket in stock (I noticed it appeared, then disappeared and now is back in their catalog). The jackets they did have in stock seemed of good quality. Word to the wise...I don't know about this latest offering, but the previous description...

Wow, hopefully my exchange doesn't go that badly! I was definitely put off by their apparent use of an "answering service" to handle their orders. Like you mentioned, when I called the 800# to see when the VIP would be in stock they said they didn't have access to that info. :-k I ...

Flathead, My info didn't come from the US Wings website, rather from holding the jacket in my hand. When I slid the jacket on I noticed that the lining felt a bit thicker than I had imagined. Then looking at the tag on the sleeve I discovered that it was indeed lined with "genuine thinsulate&qu...

Thinsulate lining in US Wings jackets

So my wonderful wife gave me a US Wings Indy jacket for Christmas \:D/ (see this thread for background http://www.indygear.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6029). Yes, she kicks a** :D . She initially ordered the VIP, but it was out of stock so she changed to the Vintage Cowhide. Although I really like the...

I was just thinking about the same thing last night. I pencilled out a pattern for a similar bag (just something I made up, but similar to the Mark VII). You've all got some excellent ideas, except for perhaps the feet washing thing (it wasn't that big of booboo :) ). I think between a nice necklace or earrings and a New Year's Eve dinner I should be in the clear. I'll let you know how it all turns out, with the jacket and the lady. Thanks for...

You're probably right Cabinetman. No need to get bent about a blown surprise. It happens all the time. No doubt she'll forget all about it when she sees my face after opening the present. Then later she will regret buying it after I've been wearing it 24/7 for about 6 months, including to bed! Dang,...

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll be sure to mention those details to her. It would be a bummer to end up with a jacket that didn't fit the bill.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Cassidy, I think you might be onto something with the "I think you like the way I do business," angle. I'll put that on my list of possibilities. Though I might wait until I open my present. She may have exchanged it for a lump of coal by then.

Hi, my name is TreasureHunter and I'm a Indyholic. Although I've been reading this forum for a couple of months of and on, this is my first post. I first became interested in this site for the Diary section, but later became enamored with the jacket. After diligently reading all of your posts and do...
