Re: Wested Hero Legacy Turning Grey During Distressing?
Thanks for all the info on this! It’s definitely a legacy Raiders Hero, I double checked my order confirm from years ago. I guess it’s a different tanning than LC jackets because I’ve seen those distressed on YouTube and they have great light brown undertones. As long as I’m not rubbing color onto t...

Wested Hero Legacy Turning Grey During Distressing?
Hi All! So a couple years back I got my very own Raiders Hero legacy jacket in lambskin. It's amazing jacket, but just very shiny and new looking. I've held off on distressing and just wore the #### out of it, but a few years later, it's still looking shiny and new. I just prefer the more weathered ...

Re: What To Do With A Small Hat
That may be an option if the stretching doesn't work. After measuring my head last night, I realized that I gave Michelle a measurement an inch smaller than what it should have been. My mistake when converting to CM. In the grand scheme of things, I'm not sure how large a discrepancy that is (I'm fa...

Re: What To Do With A Small Hat
Awesome, thanks so much for these pointers. It's funny, I actually did some measuring last night and figured out that my original measurement was small by about one inch so we should be in the ballpark of this working by stretching up a size or two. I'll be looking into some hat stretchers to give i...

Re: What To Do With A Small Hat
Yea, that’s been part of the problem. When the hat arrived, and even sitting on the stand it has a ton of character, but on my head it just looks kind of sterile. Looks like I’ll be investing in a hat stretcher to stretch this thing out a bit. I’ll also hit it with some steam to try and reshape a li...

What To Do With A Small Hat
](*,) So I did a few searches for this and wasn't really able to find anything. A Few years ago, Michelle at HJ worked on a custom Idol Grab hat for me. At the time, I had longer hair that I was planning on cutting down the line so I requested she account for that and she made the hat a little more ...

Re: Is Herbert Johnson the holy grail of indy fedoras now?
My Raiders Poet does not have the turn, but my Penman Everyman does. The crease on the Raiders is so sharp, I wouldn't want to have to readjust it for the turn. I feel like you would never get it all the way out. However, overall I like it with the turn. I think it adds a great dimension to the hat...

Whoops sorry, I missed this! Unfortunately no, I didn't ask her because I decided to get mine done now.IJJTM wrote:There are some nice videos out there that show how to do it, like on Penman’s Facebook. Also, any idea what price the 40th anniversary will be?

Re: Is Herbert Johnson the holy grail of indy fedoras now?
Unless you go open crown, the original Raiders crease styled by HJ is likely to still show if you put in a second, turned crease later. You'd also need to re-adjust the side creases. Jack Thanks this is helpful. Do you know anyone that may have had problems with having them put the turn in for them...

Re: Is Herbert Johnson the holy grail of indy fedoras now?
It was my understanding that they were waiting for the actual anniversary of the release date, which won't be till June, I think. I actually spoke to Michelle earlier this week about an order I'm placing and asked about this. They are shooting for a June release but it's all contingent on if they c...
