Re: Northwest Hat Co Raiders
Probably a silly question, but I still wonder so, here it goes: The hat body is turned, but the band and lining is installed correctly, i.e. not turned so when you put the hat on, the ribbon is in the back, not turned?

Re: Newb with questions. Help.
I have two jackets in goat, a Wested LC and a US Wings Signature Series. The Wested is much more authentic to the film, but a bit costumey in construction. The US Wings is built like a working jacket, but fits very differently than the film jackets; too long in the body and roomy in the chest and ar...

Re: Crystal Skull lanterns
Woody has a great company and his website is an amazing resource for lantern collectors. I've spent hours browsing his site and am a repeat customer. I'm now very tempted to purchase one of these to add to the hoard! Thanks a lot!

Re: Fedora from Wested
It certainly is a good time to buy a Fed IV Deluxe, at that price: https://hatsdirect.com/collections/the-federation-iv/products/federation-iv-deluxe-open-crown" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Is that lower than usual or are you talking about the exchange rate to US dollars...

She's petite too, just 4 7/8". Works in dress shirts when I go to court and Hilo Hattie aloha shirts the rest of the time. Here she is with whatever I had in the drawer; a sterling Waterman and a resin Levenger. https://i.imgur.com/JHMa7mKm.jpg My problem hasn't been weight, but length. Some of...

Re: Fountain pen recommendations?
Weight is a consideration if you're going to really carry. I've carried the same tortoise shell resin Pelikan Souveran every work day for 30 years because it's light. I've had other pens, but they were all too heavy for a shirt pocket. Looks sloppy to have your pocket hanging out in support of a hea...

Update: It is the Signature Series. I looked closer at the paper tag that was attached and it says, "IJG BRN L. " IJG is the SKU on the US Wings website for the Signature Series. Mystery solved.

Re: US Wings Made in America?
So the USW LG goatskin jacket came and seems to fit like a signature series, loose. It also lacks the storm flap snaps depicted on their website for the non-signature version. I thought about returning it or reselling it since it still had the hang tag and appeared totally unworn, but curiosity got ...

Re: Distressing Goatskin tips?
That's some distressing! I'd say, wear it more. The wrinkles, in the arms especially, don't look natural. Get it wet, wear it until dry. Repeat. I've only had my Wested LC Goat for a few weeks now but I've done that a few times and I like how it's developing. BTW, I'm pretty sure Wested is currently...

You NAILED it! I wanted the larger pouch pockets but didn't consider their impact on the hand-warmer pockets.xmasters wrote:If it's their Last Crusade jacket its handwarmer pockets can be awkward for some people. Myself included. The Raiders is much better in that respect.

Re: US Wings Made in America?
44. I wear a 44 and the jacket fits me well, just not at the back of my neck. With two fused vertebrae, it sits pretty far back on my torso, so it's not that unusual that jackets rub me there. As for the pockets, I have a couple WWII M1941 jackets and they have the same "high pocket" issue...

Re: US Wings Made in America?
Thanks, I can't wait. Do you think people would care to see comparison photos between an unknown US Wings jacket in goat and a new Wested OTR in goat, or are these areas too well traveled to be of interest? I sprung for the USW because the collar on my Wested crowds the back of my neck, the "ac...

US Wings Made in America?
Hey gang, do their non-signature series jackets have their "Made in the USA" tag? On their website, the non-signature jackets are photographed so you cannot tell. I have a second-hand jacket coming that looks brand new and has the "Made in USA" flag tag sewn under their company t...

Pre-Distressed Goat or Distress My Goat?
Thanks for all the responses about the action pleat; so much to learn. When I placed my order at the end of October for a 44R Wested LC in brown goat, they were offering (and I thought of ordering) it in pre-distressed goat. Since receiving it and learning that it's going to be a very long time befo...

LostRaider25, is the right sleeve significantly shorter than the left sleeve? Looks that way in all the pictures, or is this a part of the "Hero" design I was unfamiliar with? More photos https://m.imgur.com/PYyrHAq" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (Unzipped front) ...

Re: Without Action Back?
Very interesting, thank you. I didn't realize the elastic was missing. So it's the "slack jaw" or "floppy bat wing" I find offensive more than the actual pleats. Looks like G&B no longer makes the "Expedition" but US Wings is still good to go? When the elastic band ...

Without Action Back?
Ahoy all. I'm a lurker who just joined after receiving my Wested LC in goat. It's great, fits good, and I'm breaking it in, but every time I pass a mirror I'm bothered by the seemingly functionless "action pleats" which look really odd from the side. Just seems like an extra complication t...
