So I ended up buying the shirt, and someone here wanted to see it next to a white and khaki shirt, well here it is under florescent light: https://i.imgur.com/fy3n94X.jpg On the left is a white dress shirt, and on the right is an unofficial Indy shirt from Amazon. And for good measure, here is the s...

I just wanted a Adventurebilt Legacy Collection The Raider, but I guess I'll just have to settle for a Herbert Johnson Raiders Sable Beaver Turn Poet instead.IJJTM wrote: Kungaloosh, would you mind saying what you had on order?

Re: Is Penman Still In Business?
Well, this stinks. On top of the issues with suppliers and the virus, this happens. Great! I got a refund this morning and they didn't even tell me why. No letter, no note, no nothing. I ask why and they tell me he's sick. Did he catch the virus? If Penman croaks it's the end of Penman Hats and the ...

I'm not telling you.Indiana Jeff wrote:How so?
Well, I'm not doing either, so....The only way to assure your whip won’t slip in the real world is to use a double wrap. Or you can do what they did in the movies and secure the whip with fishing line.

Whip Holders
So I own a 10ft, off-brand Bullwhip. I bought it in 2019 at a Renaissance Fair from an arms dealer. Since I've bought it, I've been searching for a good whip holder for it. I have bought several and they all have the same problem: https://i.imgur.com/LmrPoVqm.jpg https://i.imgur.com/TJqDKEom.jpg htt...

Well, both today and last Sunday I've been working on cleaning my hat. I have bought distilled water, a hat brush, hat sponges, Brickmore foaming dark cleaner, fine grit sandpaper, and microfiber towels. After some elbow grease, a little patience, & some hours cleaning, steaming, brushing, and s...

Re: Crease Damage...Should I Be Worried?
Use a hat brush and a lint roller to pull up the dirt. A little distilled water and a soft brush *might* do a little something for the oil, or at least diffuse it so it's not so noticeable, but really the only thing to take it out is a professional cleaning. Great, do you know a person/place who ca...

Re: Crease Damage...Should I Be Worried?
Unless you're aiming for a dirty/distressed look, you should periodically brush your hat to lessen the amount of dirt particles present. A dirty hat will break down quicker. If you are having trouble "setting" the crease, a quick shot of hat stiffener (or even scotch guard) can help. How ...

Re: Crease Damage...Should I Be Worried?
Why have you had to keep re-creasing it if you don't mind me asking? I've had a few hats with the tight raiders pinch and I've had them wear down just from constantly taking it off and on from the pinch (bad form I know but they were beater akubra hats) but never had to re-crease it constantly to t...

Well, it was the seller who originally creased it for me, all I did was try to keep it that shape.Forrest For the Trees wrote:Once you have creased your hat to the shape you want it, you really shouldn't handle the crown much. Dirt and oil from your hands, as well as continued creasing will weaken and damage the felt.

Crease Damage...Should I Be Worried?
Over the years I have begun to notice some dark lines along the "nose" and top pinch of my Poet. This is more than likely due to me constantly creasing it to keep it in Raiders shape. I was just wondering if this might cause some structural and stability issues down the road? I was also wo...

Re: Fedora's fedora
It could be Fedora #279, but I'm not too sure about the crown height or the pinch. Cheyenne Pinch #232 seems like another likely candidate, but wrong color.
