Re: Front Length
Can be tricky trying to get that exact perfect length. I think westeds site mention a 1/2" tolerance on back length. For example if I wanted a 23.5" back length I would order a 24" If you want a 24" back length consider ordering 24.5" So you found out that 26" is too l...

Re: Front Length
I wasn't sure if the folding was accurate to the pattern, which is why I am hesitant to pull the trigger without input from more experienced minds. Perhaps I was making a mistake. I guess the higher rise jeans always made me think the jacket was longer than it actually was in my mind, especially loo...

Re: Front Length
My intention would be for everyday wear, not cosplay. This is why I'd prefer a shorter length. I'm 5'6 and not a centimeter taller. When I had the 26" custom, I folded the bottom length up to a 24" back. I also folded the front in proportion to the front length of that particular custom, w...

Re: Front Length
In the standard Raiders jacket I wear a size 36 for a snug fit, but my measurement would be between a 36 and 38.

Front Length
Hello all! I've been seeing the recent threads by vertically challenged Indy fans. As one of them, I had a few questions. I emailed Wested 3 times but got no response. I'm 5'6 and I recently ordered a Raiders as a custom fit. I chose a 26" back (going from their size charts) but it was pretty l...

Re: Wested Leather Cut?
"Feels terrible" may have been a bad way to describe the cheaper jacket. Although I don't understand how leather works completely, I'm familiar with different cuts used for different garments, as well as their quality and other characteristics. When referring to my cheap mall jacket, I mea...

Re: Wested Leather Cut?
I assumed top grain was used for Wested's jackets. In the U.S. corners are cut with a lot of the leather jackets. I have a newer Wilson's that feels terrible, and that one is made from genuine leather (bonded and stamped). Wested hides feel much better, and I was almost certain they would be top gra...

Re: Wested Leather Cut?
Top grain would be my assumption too. The only thing that had me questioning that is the tag that is present in some older jackets.

Re: Wested Leather Cut?
Yeah, I too would love to know. I love my Raiders jacket and am sure it is of the upmost quality but it would be cool to know the specifics. I will email Wested again this week and see if I can get a definitive answer. I looked through their newest WordPress blog and although there are some new topi...

Re: Wested Leather Cut?
Basically I'm asking what type of cut the jackets are made of, after the full grain hide is split. Their WordPress mentions top grain in passing in the form of a question but other than that their site doesn't offer any explanation as to the specific cut. https://www.buckskinleather.com/leather-term...

Wested Leather Cut?
So I've been wondering this for quite some time, and I've emailed Wested directly for the info to no avail. Basically, I'm curious to know the leather cut used to construct the jackets they produce. I've seen that some jackets have a tag stating, "Genuine Real Leather," but the wording is ...

Satin stretch?
I purchased a Raiders jacket in goatskin back in January. I love it, it looks great, and for the most part the fit is excellent! I have one problem though, the satin sleeves are kind of tight. I have room in the leather, but I'm a gym bro, so my arms are a little bigger and I'm not able to have full...
