Re: What's a good way to age a Raiders sandbag?

And here I was thinking there would be some weird trick!

Well, I was already planning to take my Raiders brush out to dirty it up, so I guess now I can take this too.

I hope this doesn't mean the whole shelf where these guys will be sitting will end up messy as heck though!

Re: What's a good way to age a Raiders sandbag?

Right, but I was also thinking in terms of specific dirt at the bottom, so it looks darker where the contents have been sitting and where the bag would usually have been in touch with the ground.

Any of you guys with a Destiny hat who also own older hats can confirm if the color is a bit more burgundy compared to the Spielberg hats, as it seems in the movie?

Ah, I guess their site just converts prices to euros.

Well at least a few excellent prop makers are in Europe, so not everything is either America or elsewhere all the time.

Re: Where do people get Indy's pants these days?

Karolian dry goods is a great choice. Never heard of these guys before. And for once they're EU? https://www.magnoliclothiers.com/advent ... -p-39.html I'm looking for Crusade style pants, so I wanted to ask about your twill, wool and cotton options. Weren't Indy's twill originally? However for Cru...

Where do people get Indy's pants these days?

I guess the title is self-explanatory.

I own a really old pair from Wested, and I was eyeing some original WWII pinks, but I'm not sure if I'll go for them as the color always looked kind of off in Destiny's behind the scenes photos. What's the best source for the pants today?

Re: Prop Ammo for the Bapty?

If you can find a live pistol you can ask a registered firearms trader company to buy it and submit to your countries registered proof house for deactivation - that way you never own it when it's live which takes out licensing complications and opens up more choices than trying to find one already ...

Re: Prop Ammo for the Bapty?

I'll have to check the exact laws over in Romania. Maybe even deactivated stuff needs the same permit as the real thing. :-k Out of curiosity, I just checked out the laws for Ireland and Spain (the two places that affect me) and you don't need a gun license. So chances are it's the same for you. Yo...

Re: Prop Ammo for the Bapty?

Well the pistol is a whole other thing. I imagine that'd be extremely difficult to come by in Europe, and on top of it, you'd later have to modify it. Even if it's deactivated, I assume you'd also need a firearms license to purchase and own such a thing—and it would likely be prohibitively expensive...

Re: Prop Ammo for the Bapty?

Yeah, I was aware of DarkMatterProps. It's not the correct ammo, though. And it looks brand new. Thanks for the heads up though, it's not a bad shop. I have a plan A, B, C and D for this. At the moment it's too much of a headache for such a low priority thing. But since they're dirt cheap, I'll keep...

Re: Prop Ammo for the Bapty?

I think I'll try to exhaust my options first, I'm not a big fan of resin props when the object is meant to be metal. I'm talking to a local collector who may know where to find these. Another option is to ship them to Northern Ireland, but I'm not sure about that—even though it's still UK, there's t...

Re: Prop Ammo for the Bapty?

Thanks. I got in touch with them, and looks like shipping this stuff is quite problematic over here. I'm looking for an alternative through a different address, or perhaps getting a replica through one of them. We'll see. A bit annoying cause the real rounds they have look quite good and I don't thi...

Re: Prop Ammo for the Bapty?

Thanks again! Well, gonna get in touch with those guys first and see if it's even possible to ship these things out of the UK—because from what I've been reading it might not be possible. I should've bought this stuff while I was living in the US a while back, much easier over there where one can bu...

If it's okay for them to send them over to Ireland then either of these are a reliable source for inert ammunition: https://dwsuk.org/epages/057184c7-2fa2-4321-880c-a30e87657239.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/057184c7-2fa2-4321-880c-a30e87657239/Categories/12 https://www.dandbmilitaria.com/inert-ammun...

Prop Ammo for the Bapty?

I never really paid much attention to Indy's guns but as I near completion with my prop collection I'm considering getting a couple of pistol replicas to go with it. Never the real guns, as I don't want those in my house. For the Bapty, I'm considering a modified Tanaka aged and with replacement gri...

Re: Indy's Eagle Scout Medal?

I've always wondered about the Eagle medal shown in the archives. Could it be from Indy's house later in the film? Indy's home isn't featured in The Last Crusade, but I guess you mean Henry's too. Could've been there, or Indy's college office (which wouldn't make any sense to me). I've been checkin...

Re: Indy's Eagle Scout Medal?

It makes them stand out. Their poses read better and the two main actors are easier to recognize in the wide. Herman also has to fall on his back, which looks better without the pack. There can be plenty of reasons. It's actually a fun little detail.

I just rewatched the opening to refresh my memory and interestingly the only two Scouts not wearing backpacks are Indy and Herman. Re: Indy's Eagle Scout Medal?

What's the medal from the archives supposed to be then? I'm not familiar with these.

Perhaps someone else's prop? The only other thing that occurs to me is perhaps decoration for Henry's home in 1938 but I doubt he'd keep that if they both grew apart.

Indy's Eagle Scout Medal?

Just came across this photograph of Indy's Eagle Scout medal (and Boy Scout backpack) while discussing some pictures from an old Lucas Archives exhibition with a friend.

I know some people collect them, but I was wondering, do we ever get to see the medal in the films?

Yeah...the results seen above were done almost entirely with a zippo lighter...the flame held just far away enough from the leather to deposit soot and darken it, which you rub in with your fingers. Fixing A Damaged MKVII Bag

Hey all, My first post here. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for fixing damaged shoulder bags. Recently, my very first MKVII finally gave up and its left strap attachment broke right where the metal ring holds the bag in place. I've heard this is a known weakness, I guess sort of u...
