That's a repro of a Mk VI gas mask bag - hence the rear pockets, two small D rings on the front sides and the '1940 pattern' stamp. You'd think an army surplus specialist like Silverman's would have spotted that? The Mk VI rear pockets are actually really good for securely storing valuables so okay...

They lost me when they added that raised ridge between the stitching. One thing they did was convert from Goodyear welt to stichdown construction. That was interesting.
