Re: Bill Kelso's Relic Hunter
All the photos look great, but that one with it zipped really highlights how perfect this jacket is, to me. Like you said, looks like you stole it off Ford.

Re: The G&B Expedition gone?
It does seem odd not to continue offering a product on a made-to-order basis. Now, keeping a bunch of sizes in stock, sure. Makes sense to discontinue a production item.

Looks just about perfect to me. Just the right amount of grain/ribby-ness.

Re: WHICH JACKET MAKER IS BEST FOR LC STYLE???
Who all makes a LC jacket at the moment?
Wested (Though isn't theirs a LC/CS hybrid?)
S&J
Magnoli(?)
Anyone else?
Seems like there are a lot more options for the Raiders jacket.

Don't say you probably won't be hanging from a blimp! In my experience that's a sure-fire way of guaranteeing that you'll be hanging from a blimp before the week is out!

Re: Landing Leathers
I had never heard of these. Might not be bad, though it looks more "Indy-inspired" rather than a true Indy-style jacket. It's longer, for one thing. Yoke looks bigger, etc. That may be fine, if that's what you're after. Seems like it is a nice "mall" leather jacket in the Indy st...

Re: Considerations when purchasing a Wested jacket from the
Kozmoedave and I have similar stories (as detailed in another thread). I've got a Todd's and am very happy with it. I was looking at getting a Wested, and may still one day, but there were enough stories like Synycyl's to make me a little nervous about it. Even the folks who are big Wested fans ofte...

Re: Taking 'every' measurement for the perfect jacket
You folks are braver than me when it comes to taking measurements off the body, though I admit that I haven't had a ton of experience. That said, measuring a jacket you already own is something I meant to recommend. It's relatively fool-proof and would give whoever is making you a similar garment (S...

Re: Taking 'every' measurement for the perfect jacket
In my experience this sort of thing is very difficult to get across over the Internet. If it's at all an option, I would highly recommend going to a tailor to have your measurements taken. Find someone reputable, not just the local dry cleaner who does the occasional alteration. Knowing exactly wher...

Re: What is this hat made of?
That is a Beaver Adventurebilt Deluxe made by Marc Kitter. When Mythbusters did their Indiana Jones episode (Busters of the Lost Myth), Adam was decked out in full Indy gear, some (all?) of which was second-hand, including the beaver ABD. You can tell it was an older one because it had the Staff of ...

Re: Signed Adventurebilt
So cool. Only downside is that you can't wear it! I mean, I guess you could, but it'd be shame to sweat that signature off. Just curious, Forrest for the Trees said that Ford didn't make a habit of signing hats. Anyone know if this is some sort of personal policy of his? Honestly, Ford doesn't strik...

Re: Let The Gray Clipper Fedora Color Debate Begin Again
Read some pretty heated reviews of the BluRay box set on Amazon. In short, the reviewers argued that Raiders was altered from its original color palette for the BR release in order to make it look more "modern" and that the DVD was closer to the original film. I have no idea if this is tru...

Sure it's expensive. But at that price, he's only got to sell one. I thought this for sure had to be a prank, but it looks like the seller has sold many other items at, shall we say, a more reasonable rate. Still, the reviews he includes in the item description are pretty hilarious. Copy and p...

Re: Peters Brothers custom fedora thread....
Called both Texas Hatters and Peter Brothers today to see about cleaning and re-blocking a vintage child's cowboy hat that my uncle gave to my son. While I had the folks at Peter Brothers on the horn, I thought to ask them about their custom Indy fedoras. It was sort of an afterthought while I was o...

Kozmoedave, perhaps we are Indy Gear Twins, separated at birth...is that a thing? But seriously, I worked in music instrument retail for many years, and have played guitar for many more. It's interesting the overlap between the guitar gearhead hobby and the Indy gear hobby. On the surface they...

Re: "collectable" jackets....
I've seen the same thing happen with guitars and amps. I'm into rockabilly, western swing, and old jazz. New models come and go, boutique makers go out of business or discontinue products. Think it has to do with how niche that type of gear is, just like the Indy gear hobby. There's just not a ton o...

Re: Todd's Jacket Owner's Thread
I joined Club Obi Wan a few weeks back, but it's just this weekend that I really feel like I've "joined the club." In other words, just got my first piece of Indy gear (excepting the stuff I had as a kid). The short version: I picked up an early Todd's jacket off the bazaar from Texan Scot...

I'd have to rewatch the scenes to be sure (hey, any excuse, right?), but based on these two pictures, I like the Washington bash. Just my two cents. Either is cool.

Re: Every day Hat
Recently got into wearing hats (well, proper hats, I've worn ball caps off and on for ages). Anyway, I was going to jump into the proverbial deep end and go for a Raiders style fedora. But I also knew I wanted a Stetson Open Road. For those who might not know, it's a fedora that is commonly bashed w...

Re: searching for my own perfect "indy" jacket
Enjoying reading through this thread as I think I'm in a similar position as the OP insofar as what I'm wanting out of an Indy jacket. Between the comments here and in the "modern fit" thread, it sounds like Magnoli and Steele and Jones are the places folks are most often recommending. Unf...

Re: "Modern fit" Jacket
(Hi, new here!) I had much the same question. I love the Indy jacket, but am less concerned about it being SA. And while the SA jackets look great on folks, I just worry that it would feel too odd to me to wear on a regular basis. Magnoli's jacket in the above post is the best looking Indy jacket I'...
