Re: Trouble traveling with your fedora?

I am no hat expert, but I would suggest you plan what you are going to do in the event someone does try to take it from you.

It's a hat. It can be replaced. Let it go. It's not worth getting you and/or your family hurt.

Just my 2 cents.

US Wings Signature Indy

I never thought it would happen, but thanks to Black Friday I am going to be the owner of the US Wings Signature Indy jacket. My only concern is the sizing. Based on my weight (225 lbs), US Wings recommended a 2XL, but the chart says my chest should be 50-52, which I suspect is more 46-48. I don't c...

Re: New USW jacket on the horizon

My understanding is that the Signature series has a little more length than the Legend series. Are there any other differences?

Re: USW Raiders or A2

Thanks for the feedback gents. I was unaware that Schott made their jackets. That is encouraging. I will continue to search through the older posts for more reviews, but I appreciate the up to date assessment you provided.

USW Raiders or A2

Hello group,

I am looking for feedback on US Wings Raiders jackets. How is the quality and sizing? I am not super concerned with screen accuracy.

As a plan B I am also considering the USW modern A2 in goatskin, if anyone has experience with those jackets. Thanks.

Looks like they also sell it on Amazon (Prime Eligible) for $150. No risk purchase if you have Prime.

I hear you. In terms of an 'authentic' LC repro., matching details from the movie jacket, fit etc., S&J could most likely hit it out of the park for you. You probably have read where others talk about jacket ride up with the LC, and that is due to the larger diameter arm holes. The way to remed...

I don't like it when things like this happen, and across the pond, even. Hindsight, but I would have said, here are my chest, sleeve and back measurements. Can you please match these measurements as closely as possible? This gets someone engaged in the process and to physically putting a tape on a ...

Re: Considerations when purchasing a Wested jacket from the

It is unfortunate that you had to go through that. Of course, hindsight is 20/20, but in reading your post, there was the possibility of giving them your exact measurements, and they could have closely matched what you wanted in another OTR jacket, if you wanted to save money. Buy a measuring tape ...

Considerations when purchasing a Wested jacket from the USA

Hello all, I know there have been a couple of other threads about purchasing Wested jackets recently, but I wanted to post my experience and share some information that I would have wanted to read before my attempt to purchase a Wested LC via mail order from the USA. I found Wested after some resear...

Re: Jacket advice

I am definitely sending it back. I was also wondering if it was a mismarked 42, but the back length came out to be slightly longer than what a 44 should be, so I am not sure that is the case. My plan is to include a lengthy letter in the return. For example, I will explain that I want the sleeves to...

Re: Jacket advice

I have another question when it comes to arm length measurements. According to Wested's size guide, a size 44 jacket has a 25.5 inch sleeve. I took out the jacket that I will be sending back and measured what appeared to be the longest part of the sleeve, from the cuff to the top of the sleeve where...

Re: Jacket advice

Thanks for all the advice so far. Based on your comments I will re measure my arms to get that length correct. I plan to go up a chest size to 46. I will probably add an inch or two to the length as well. I am thinking about going with the shoulder gussets for more range of motion in the arms. Anyon...

Jacket advice

Hello all, I am hoping for some advice. I have just purchased my first Wested leather jacket, a LC in predistressed cowhide, size 44. I ordered an off the rack size 44 as my chest measured 44" and was under the impression that the LC was more roomy in the chest. Part of the reason I decided on ...

I am a Doctor Who fan as well. I had forgotten about the hat connection between Ford and Baker.

Perhaps that hat is the Doctor's hat from the Seeds of Doom where he lands in Antarctica? Fuzzy for extra warmth!

Re: Ordering a Wested LC / JACKET ARRIVED

Thanks for the reply Shaggs. Unfortunately, it did not fill me with optimism. I believe a 44" OTR LC has a back one inch longer than the one you specified. I am 3-4" taller than you, so I am afraid I may come up short. Worse case scenario, I will get an OTR that I can base my measurements ...

How well do open crown hats hold their shape? Do they eventually establish a "memory" or do they require constant reshaping?

Re: Ordering a Wested LC / JACKET ARRIVED

Thanks Shaggs for posting. I just joined this forum as a result of my search for an Indy jacket, and also just ordered a Wested LC in pre-distressed cowhide. I went with the OTR option however. Once it comes in, I plan to do a similar post outlining my experience. Shaggs, if you don't mind sharing, ...
