I decided to make my own whip holder after so many years of just thinking about it. I wanted to make it durable and able to hold the whip tight when trekking. I had some scraps of leather laying around from other projects so I just made a quick holder.

On the first attempt I used adhesive velcro and I thought that was a pretty slick idea...until the next morning it had peeled off from the leather.

So my next attempt was sewing on strips of velcro. I did this with a regular ol leather awl. It's probably not the easiest way but I knew it would be sturdy.

So the second version is holding up nicely. The adhesive velcro made it stiff where as the sewn one allows there to be much more flexibility. The two snaps hold it tight and still snap off easy enough for use. I still have to stain the leather, but that's about it. Now I don't have to worry about my whip sliding around or falling out of my holder.

Let me know what ya'll think!
