Off topic slightly (maybe a lot), but I went back to look at the first photos in this thread and noticed something with the pants...
Notice the outseam is much longer on HF's pants compared to the other pants in the pic beside him.
In other words, as I thought might be the case, the pants are mande to the older patterns, where the waist is worn, well, at the
waist. So, the outseam is
at least an inch longer than typical pants available these days. (just look at the length of the fly seam).
So, (here's the really of-topic part) are the pants provided by Wested and others made to the older 'high waist' (which is actually better called true waist) pattern or are they a modern interpretation of the old design?
I mention this because the 'short shirt tail syndrome' we all (well most of us) suffer from would be greatly reduced/eliminated if the pants were worn
at the waist, and not just above the hip, as is typical with modern styles.
