Here is a few pictures of a whip I just finished. For some reason in the pictures the handle seems a little long but in person it seems fine who know. Anyway enjoy.
Here is the info of how I make my bullwhips directly from my website.
I begin each Leather whip (Cowhide/Kangaroo) with a steel handle, attaching to it strands of leather lace covered by a bolster at the tip of the handle. I then cover both the handle and leather filler with a bolster. I then plait a 6 plait belly around the bolster followed by an 8 plait. Depending on the diameter of the whip at these points I may put a bolster over the plated bellies to bring the whip up to the proper thickness. The final overlay of the whip is a 12 plait. I put a 45 degree angle on the underside of all the strands so that they will nest into each other after each layer of the whip is rolled giving that smooth taper transition. I also bind the whip after each layer in the handle to thong transition (this prevents the whip from whipping like a noodle). I then add the knots and fall, after this I roll the whip again to make sure the taper is smooth and flowing.
