Re: The perfect hat

A stunning piece, Marc. I would really like to touch the surface, since I thought that the one you crafted for me last year was impossible to top in that department. Glad to see that your obsession to create impeccable hats is undimmed. It sure pays off! :notworthy:

Re: Decisions, decisions...first Fedora!

The Penman is unbeatable when comes to the quality you get for the price. If I compare it to other hats I own and know, only Marc's AB deluxe offers a slightly better quality in terms of materials and craftsmanship. The price difference, however, is considerable by now. Particularly for American cus...

Re: Some days, you just can't win....

The "turn" with its warped brim doesn't suit me particularly well, so I let Marc make me a hat without the "turn", but with a turned bow. The perfect compromise for me personally! :D

Re: just had my first, "that's not Indiana Jones' hat" moment

Well, in these times a guy under 50 wearing a wide brimmed fedora is a bit of an anachronism I'm afraid. It's coming back though. Where I live (Palatinate/Germany), I counted over 30 fedoras at last christmans market. I also don't get any comments when I walk around with it on the streets. If peopl...

Thanks!

Well, "Toth" is my nickname on this forum and I'm the one wearing the fedora in the pictures. However, I hope you don't think that this is me on the avatar, because that's the celebrated French film director Francois Truffaut.

Re: adVintage Fedora

That's because you can't. You have to upload the photos onto a site like photobucket and then post a link or the html code to view the picture here. Dave Jeez, that sounds comparatively elaborate. I'm not so much into this computer and internet stuff, so I'm not so familiar with the different possi...

I'm rather inexperienced with this forum. So far, I can't see any way to upload images from my computer here. :-k

Re: adVintage Fedora

I just received a new adVintage with a CS bash. The first one I ordered was a little too small, so Thomas had to craft a new one for me. I'm happy to say that he has already honed his skills a bit. The finish is softer and the stiching of the liner is also a bit more diligent. Altogether, it doesn't...

Re: adVintage Fedora

I've got one of them. They are decent in quality and definitely worth their money. However, this does not extend to American customers who suffer from a, still too strong, Euro. John Penman's hats offer a smoother felt finish and the stiching work is also superior. Still, it's 100% beaver after all,...
